Winona Lake's public beach is at Winona Lake Limitless Park, 1590 Park Avenue, on the east shore of the lake. It is a town park, with a buoyed swimming area on the lake, the K21 Splash Pad, an accessible playground, picnic pavilions, a fire pit, and boat rentals in one place. Hours change with the season. The beach and splash pad run on a summer schedule that shifts year to year, and no page publishes a permanent set of hours. Confirm before you drive over: the park is reachable at 574-267-2310, and the Winona Lake Parks Department office at 1310 Park Avenue is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., at 574-267-7581. Check the water first
The beach has no lifeguard-style daily water report posted on site, and the numbers that matter are published online by a research center rather than by the town. Two pages carry them.
- E. coli results. The Lilly Center for Lakes & Streams samples Winona Lake Beach weekly through the summer. The reference line is 235 CFU per 100 mL.
- Microcystin results. Weekly testing from June through August for the blue-green algae toxin, with 8.0 ppb as the reference line for recreational contact.

What is at the park
Limitless Park was built in two phases, with Phase 1 completed in 2015 and Phase 2 breaking ground in April 2024, around a 1.5-acre inclusive design. What is there now:
- The beach and swimming area, marked with buoys on the lake side.
- The K21 Splash Pad, which recirculates filtered water and includes a water tunnel.
- The playground, with climbing boulders, hillside slides, a rope climber, a crawl tunnel, a cozy dome for sensory play, and a We-Saw for collaborative rocking.
- Tennis courts, pavilions and picnic tables, a fire pit, and open grass under mature trees.
- Boat rentals and a renovated restroom building.
The pavilion and the Senior Center can be reserved through the parks office.
Accessibility
Accessibility is the reason the park has its name. The design goes past current ADA requirements rather than meeting them, and the specifics are worth knowing if they decide whether a visit works for your family: wheelchair-accessible pathways and picnic areas, a fully accessible restroom building, ADA access throughout the playground structure, a wheelchair-accessible spinner, an expression swing for tandem parent and toddler play, and designated shade and respite areas for anyone who needs a quieter moment. The splash pad is barrier-free for all ability levels.

Renting a kayak or paddleboard
The park rents canoes, kayaks, paddle boats, and paddleboards by the hour or by the day, which makes it the easiest place on the lake to get on the water without owning anything. The park office at 574-267-2310 answers rental questions. The Lakehouse, at 720 E Canal St, also rents kayaks and paddleboards from the canals on the east shore, which are the most sheltered water Winona has.
